Hi there, i have included an IP-blacklist since yesterday. It was necessary because there has been a lot of misuse of the service. People created lots and lots of meltmail addresses in an automated way. And because i don’t want to include a Captcha into the system (because this would look ugly and cost time when creating a meltmail address) i included this blacklist.
So if anyone gets a special message while creating a meltmail and thinks that this is a mistake, please feel free to contact me.

You may need that captcha because my website is being bombed by spammers using meltmail. This was a good idea but like so many, it was shortsighted if you had not considered that the spammers might use your service. In the past three days i have banned and deleted over 50 meltmail accounts and 17 today alone. If you don’t address this, meltmail is going to get blacklisted by almost everyone because i’ve been hit now more by meltmail in the past few days than by any service in the past several years except maybe for keymachine and internetserviceteam.
Hope you get this corrected but if you don’t, prepare to be blacklisted as people aren’t going to take time to send you 50 or more spam accounts every day or so for your blacklist if they can just report meltmail once to spamcop.

@A.
yes, its a shame that people are misusing it and i think meltmail is already on some blacklists, because you can’t register for example on facebook with it.
But i was also thinking about changing the creation process. maybe it will be a captcha, maybe something else. because i really dont like the captchas. they look ugly and they cost time.
but thanks for your comment.

Hi
My IP was banned, but I don’t know why. I went over the T&C and checked the blog, but I was within the rules.
I created several addresses for a website that insisted I sign up with more than 1 email address in case eg my primary email junks their notices. So I created several different meltmail addresses and signed up with them. It’s still my own email address, and it’s for my own purposes. Can you please either tell me what’s wrong with doing this, or un-ban my IP
Thank you

please dont block this IP or dont put this on your blacklist 87.236.197.182 for reasons that this is a web hosting Ip being shared by thousands of people it just happens that is being used in connection to your service because of a registration people need to do using meltmail. Please review the case. and in regards to your blacklist, I think captcha is better than being blocked for just creating 2 meltmail account…
