…whow, meltmail.com has been mentioned on lifehacker.com. Thanks for that, too.
We’ve covered boat loads of similar disposable email applications, so Melt Mail isn’t breaking any new ground, but since some services won’t allow you to register with popular temporary email addresses, it’s worthwhile to have another option in your arsenal. Besides, the dead-simple interface is a nice touch.
Uh, hopefully these ‘some services‘ won’t update their blocking list too soon.

Guys, nice implementation to a known idea/problem.
Good job on the low friction design. making it easy to use makes it something I will use…
Bad job on the melting time presets…
I think you went to the extrema here, the 24H max limit means you only had a very limited use case in mind when designing this. like registration to a web site that will send you a confirmation link. but here are other use cases that would require the time to be in DAYS not in hours (and I claim even weeks!)
1. post a question on a forum. you want to get answers for the next 4 weeks. after that you want the thing to just go away (melt!)
2. selling something? post the email online or even print it out on your hardcopy

@csmba: thanks for the tip. yeah, thats true. for this purposes meltmail is not very useful. but i like the idea of fast melting mails. so after max. 24 hours i don’t need to care anymore. and it keeps the database clear. because addresses are deleted after max. 24 hours.

Hey, why don’t you create an add-on for Firefox?. I loved that option “disposable e-mail address” in my right-click menu in my Firefox. It’s the perfect complement.

@Richard: yes, i thought of this, too. That would be awesome. Maybe during the next weeks. I am currently really busy, but it would be a nice improvement. Thanks.

Oh, thank you for the compliment. I’m always happy if someone likes the system and can get benefit out of it.
